Alter Ego Cider was founded in Portland, Oregon in 2014 by winemaker Anne Hubatch, who saw cider as a way to explore a winemaker’s “other side.” What began as her creative experiment grew into a beloved local brand. When Alter Ego closed during Covid, many were sad to see it go, including us! We saw an opportunity to bring it back, to refresh and revitalize the cider we had fallen in love with.

We’ve been best friends since birth and Alter Ego reflects that bond. Equal parts Rachel & Monica, Meredith & Cristina, laughter, and loyalty. With roots in the craft beverage world, we carved our own path, trading beer’s charm for cider’s crisp, slightly rebellious spirit.

Today, Alter Ego is locally crafted, women-owned,
and community-minded. Joyful, purposeful, and unapologetically fun! Here’s to apples a little tart, friendships a little sweet, and cider that’s a whole lot of both.
